Well I purchased the Canadian split cargo mat and even though it is a nice fit I think I want a full one piece cargo tray.

I will never use the 3rd row so I need some suggestions on a heavy duty, rubberized cargo tray for my 12 HL SE. I have search threads and found pluses and minuses for the Weathertech and I have yet to see or touch one.

I just need something with a good tray to capture any spills and for hauling dirty stuff with no worries of getting the carpet dirty.

And if there is anyone in the Portland area I will sell my Cargo mat at my cost, $65.

Well you have 3 options to my knowledge:

1) Toyota US OEM cargo mat. Its not technically 1 piece (its split into a little secction for behind teh 3rd row when its up, BUT it interlocks with the other one). I don't ever use the 3rd row and I have never had a problem of it coming loose and separating. Once its together it doesn't move. It was ~$85 from my dealership. Here are some old pics I have of it.

That seem going through the middle is the split. All the edges and the split in the middle has raised edges to catch spills.

2) Weathertech, I've used their floor mats, they are pretty good, but I have no experience with their cargo mat.

3) http://www.krameraccessories.com/ I have no experience with them, just another option.

I like the look of the Kramer mat but I wonder if it is a pretty hard plastic. Same thing with Weathertech, are they semi-rubbery? I want to avoid a hard plastic tray and hope to find more of a rubberized type tray.

I know, I am to damn picky :)

I actually jsut ended up putting a 1st row , 2nd row , and cargo mat in my wifes 2012 HL. I went with Weathertech digifit for the 1st and 2nd row, and went with Kramer for the cargo row. Based on info I gathered, weathertech's cargo mat was having some slight fitment issues. I wasnt sure if they resolved them by now....but i dindt w2ant to take a chance. and according to some older info also Kramer has some fitment issues with their 2nd row mat. So far the weathertech fit awesome in the 1st and 2nd row, and i will be putting in the Kramer cargo mat tonight, so i'll let everyone know how it fits. Oh, also my Kramer cargo mat has HIGHLANDER writen in big letters across the mat...looks awesome!!

Thanks Timeless, please keep me informed. I plan on doing the same as you with Weathertech in front and 2nd and depending on other input, going with the Kramer cargo. I just dont want a very ridged, hard plastic cargo mat. I want it to be somewhat flexible.

So I installed the Kramer cargo mat last nightint the wife's 2012 HL....and it fits awesome, and looks even better. I really like the "highlander" wording on the mat...it makes it look OEM. the key to fitment also is to make sure you remove the carpet cargo mat before putting this in. The material used to make the mat is also a good choice...not to hard...and yet not too soft to allow it to loose its form....kudos to Kramer for a well done product!

The Kramer cargo mat this is shipping must differ from the one on their website. The website shows a mat that has the word "MAX" in the lower right hand corner, not "Highlander" as you mention.

i know...i'm getting pics. And yes...the one i got diffres from the one in the pictures above. If i remeber correctly mine still does have that "Max" logo on the bottom right...but across the entire middle in large letters it says "Highlander"

It also stays perfectly in place due to the fact it fits like a glove and needs to be "tucked" down. this keeps it from moving anywhere.

I'm also considering to replace the weathertech crew cab mat i have in my other truck due to the weathertech loosing its rigidity and moving all over the cab. the pricing now on the kramer stuff seems to be on sale or something and when you add in the free shipping, its seems to be a no brainer ....and I'm not affiliated with them...just a consumer whol likes quality when i part with my money

Thanks for posting the picture!

Just a question about the material. Is it firm enough to hold its shape around the edges?

I'm wondering because I had a Subaru brand liner in my Outback. It was nice and soft which I thought was great for gripping things sitting on it, but the lip that was about 1" tall all around the edge just flopped over. It was too soft to maintain it's intended shape. The real problem was the long edge right where the gate opens. It has nothing to sit against to hold it upright.

How's the Kramer around the edges?

I found the material to be jsut perfect actually. and the good thing with this design is that you have to actually "tuck" this mat down into palce...so the cars plastic will hold up the edging...its a very tight fit! which is the way it should be!

I also have a Weathertech mat for my supercrew cab in my F150, and i'm really starting to hate it due to the fact the material is loosing its original shape and becoming floppy in areas it shouldnt be. I'm seriously thinking to order one of these for my truck and seeing how it compares..especially since the pricing on the Kramers is substainly lower

I just bought a weather tech... generally, I am pretty happy with it. It is brand new.. so it better be good! There are a couple places where it makes me wonder "if that is how it is supposed to be"... for example, one area on the left next to the seat belt hinge has a small gap that concerns me a bit.

No matter which brand you get, be sure it is pushed towards the second row seats enough so the lift gate does not catch the mat... because if it does, it'll probably make the TSB issue worse. The gate should not touch the mat at all. If it does, you have it too far back.

This is important to keep an eye on if people rest back the seats in the back.

Here are some pictures of the Kramer cargo liner.

This was a test to see how good or bad it was before buying all of the floor mats as well.

I think the fit and quality of the product leaves something to be desired so I'll be skipping any of their other products and heading over to Weathertech. Should have just done that in the first place, as that's what my instincts were telling me.

The fit just isn't that good. It's too tight all around. I was hoping for a snug fit so it didn't move around but this is too much. The corners don't want to sit down on the floor, some are getting stuck in the grill work, and it keeps trying to push its way backwards.

The trimming around the perimeter was obviously done by hand and somewhat carelessly.

Based on other comments I've read about this brand of cargo liner fitting too tight, I'd recommend passing on it.

One thing they did right was the material. It's little grippy, and just sturdy enough to hold its shape.

The photos are from a phone but I think show what I've mentioned. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looking down at the lip on the back edge showing the drunken trimming job.
