I have a 2008 Sequoia Platinum with towing which means the 180A alternator. When researching previously I found that Rock Auto carried a Denso rebuilt, but they are out.

I felt extra assured that it was from Denso, but are there alternative alternators that are as good, maybe cheaper?

The new number is 27060-38050 and the rebuilt was 210-1154

Thanks!

The one by BBB Industries on RA is a Nippondenso 180 amp reman.
You could compare the various warranties on the other 180's and put that into the decision process.
Do you have a local Electrical shop auto, commercial, marine that cold overhaul yours?

Yeah I don't even see the Denso listed.

This one has a heart next to it meaning people have used them and like them:
PURE ENERGY 11405 Remanufactured

I would get that one or the BBB one that sdspeed mentioned. The Pure Energy is about $35 less.

I am assuming most if not all remans are ND because that was what came with the vehicle? I guess what matters to me is who did the rebuild and what parts they used.
My issue is I only have one vehicle, so I can't have down time with no vehicle. I have actually rebuilt a starter once. Thanks

There is a toggle to have out of stock show....if you allow OOS to show, you can see the ND.

I know in my case (after two tests), that the regulator is stuck, causing it not to charge adequately. If I was as handy as I was in the past, I would try to swap the alternator, but at this point, I would like to swap it, but was hoping to have the actual ND rebuild. Thanks

Frankly, since I've never had to, don't know how to diagnose bad alternator wiring, or diods -vs- worn out voltage regulator. But you might want to see if you can sort that out. New voltage regulators are inexpensive ($25-$35). Mostly their electronics are ok, but the carbon brushes get worn down to a nub.
If your alternator is easily accessible, pull the regulator (two screws) and have a look at the brushes. YouTube is your friend.
