What year?

Which screws? The ones holding the radio brackets to the car? Or the brackets to the radio?
If I remember, and it has been a while since I've had mine out, but aren't the screws a 10mm hex with a philips in the center? If I am remembering correctly then use a 10mm socket and not a philips. You should be at least able to break them off, then pry out the metal clip that they screw into. Take the clip to your favorite auto parts store, or a toyota dealer and get some new ones with some bolts to go with it.

Correct. The last time I upgraded my stereo, I used a 10mm socket, 6" extension bar, and a ratchet.
