Sorry for your trouble. But I'm glad mine are black. Do you know how fast beige would turn black from dirt?
1. Well, "color coordinated" (exact quote from Toyota) must mean black carpet mats in every Avalon?? I think most folks would not translate it that way.Sorry for your trouble. But I'm glad mine are black. Do you know how fast beige would turn black from dirt?
Have you talked with the dealer and given them a chance to make things right? It sounds like a mistake was made.1. Well, "color coordinated" (exact quote from Toyota) must mean black carpet mats in every Avalon?? I think most folks would not translate it that way.
2. Is it OK for Toyota to show matching beige mats on the official Toyota web site and then equip the vehicle with black mats?? If they thought showing black mats was good advertising, why to they show same color equipped mats??
3. I always spray carpet mats with Scotch Guard and that prevents most soiling problems. I also use (and own) Weathertech rubber mats in the winter. Illinois red clay shows well on black mats too...not all situations are the same.
4. Less expensive non-Toyota cars actually provide matching colors. BTW, even Toyota matched mat color on my 2008 RAV4. And they are much better quality than these cheesey black mats. I remember when Toyota/Lexus had that recall on floor mats that there were MANY complaints from Lexus owners about receiving cheap black mat replacements.
5. I do not like being lied to. Toyota lied.
I ended up buying beige mats off Ebay from a Florida Toyota dealer for $86 delivered. They were advertised OEM for 07 - 2010 Avalons but are the exact same size as the black ones that came with my 2011. They look nicer and are better quality than the black ones. It appears that all 2011 Avalons get the black mats even though the Toyota web site states "...the carpet floor mats feature high-grade plush nylon carpet, are color-coordinated to your vehicle’s interior and include an embroidered Avalon logo." which of course is false advertising but apparently true for previous year models. When winter comes I'll be putting the Weathertech rubber mats in. They fit the retention clips on the drivers side and have very aggressive studding on the back side to prevent slippage and make installation a minor challenge.I just bought my 2007 XLS a couple of weeks ago. When I bought it, it had no mats. Our local Toyota dealer had the beige in stock and we bought them (about $115 - seller re-imbursed) and the are perfectly coordinated with my beige interior.
Look into the digital fit ones..Nobody even notices them in my car they fit so well.Protects all around the carpetI ended up buying beige mats off Ebay from a Florida Toyota dealer for $86 delivered. The recalled mats were the the winter ones. The carpet mats were not subject to the recall according to an Ebay Toyota dealer. Weathertech makes heavy duty rubber mats that fit the Avalon well except for the rear seat drivers side that required some minor trimming. I have used them in my 08 RAV4 for 2 years now with no sign of wear yet.My 2011 Avalon w/ Lt. Grey interior came with black mats including the trunk mat,and the AVALON embroidery. It's fine with me. Interesting that the winter floor mat set is'nt available. The dealer told me that Toyota has'nt released them because of the floor mat issues...
weathertech was sold on eBay at $180 few months ago and now is up to $190+, what's up with that? The recalled mats were the the winter ones. I bought mine from carID.com 2 months ago for $114.95 shipped. I found a $10 on-line coupon. Ebay is expensive on Weathertech. The mats are overpriced even at the price I paid IMO but the weather here can get bad in the winter and the front mats do hold over a quart of water which is nice when it snows. Since the OEM weather mats were recalled for sliding up under the accelerator, I would recommend anyone who buys aftermarket mats to ensure that they do not bunch up under the accelerator pedal. That is not an issue with the Weathertech mats. The price is too deep so I end up going to costco and picked up one universial fit rubber mat for less than $20. they are ok but the rear set is kind of small
They are alot.BUT im in RI and with all the snow and salty grim and slush..Cant see the carpets staying new with out them, and i dont even have a light color.I put mine in 2 weeks after buying my Avalon.so im sure the carpets will STAY like new.the REAR is the best thing. Its all one piece and the front sides go up the side of the floor board alsI bought mine from carID.com 2 months ago for $114.95 shipped. Hmmm, one piece in the rear?? I was sent two separate pieces for the rear and had to cut a small amount away in the upper left corner of the drivers side rear mat for it to lay properly. I had WT-W201 sent to me for the rear. (WT-W174 for the front). I have a 2009 should be the same BUT i have the digital fit ones.Trust me well worth the buy.you must have the all weather ones.Hmmm, one piece in the rear??
