bleeding the power steering system??

1272 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  aquaholic
i just rebuilt my power steering pump (resealed really) and now the dam thing doesn't have ps unless the engine is really revving. i am attributing this to air in the system since i resealed the pump. anyone know how to bleed the air out of the power steering system 0n a 96 runner v6?

With the engine running, just keep turning the wheel from lock-to-lock, keep the cap off of the resevoir, and check the fluid level.
also helps when i dont swap the 2 hoses that come out of the bottom right side of the pump. my bad. its fixed.
