Blue Exhaust

994 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Nick
I've noticed a few times I have started up the car after its been sitting for at least a few hours, and it will emit blue-ish exhaust. It only does this when I start the car, and its only been a few times (always when its hot outside and my cars been outside, dont know if that makes a difference). The first time it happened, I was actually getting ready to drive to get my oil changed, so I figured maybe it was the old oil - but even after my oil change it has still done it a few times. Any ideas?

What's your milage? Sounds like valve stem seals are on their way out.
Well the car has 190,000 miles but the engine has about 70,000
You're burning oil, buddy. Could also be head/valve cover gaskets.

sry i know i sound naive but i dont know much bout valve stem seals or valve cover gaskets...wut exactly should i look for?
please do a search, you're making lots of threads to which you could easily find the answers pretty quickly

in short, you can't do anything unless you want to spend some pretty big bucks, but you can live with it
