Bought a Gen 3 camry today

Hey all

I was given the task of hunting down a decent family car for a close relative of mine. I looked around and came up on this one.

93 Camry V6 LE fully loaded (minus hte sunroof) with 151,000 Km

My family friend almost bought a busted up 93 gas green camry from Standard Auto (DON'T EVER BUY A CAR FROM THOSE THIEVES!) When I went to go pick it up for her the thing was a hunk of crap. I swear they had bought it at a car auction and "fixed" it up to sell as a newly conditioned used car.

I thought I'd shop around but for the amount of $$ the Gen 3 camry had to be the best pick of the 4 door sedan category.

Props to all you camry owners out there, it's a kick ass car

;)

hey, that power antenna got stuck?
Looks like it is in pretty good condition. How many owners?
looks pretty mint
hrm, not sure, but the dealer told me the guy who owned it before babied it, The car really looks like it was taken care of.

I'm guessing if the previous owner took care of it then he may have been the original owner. Then again if he was the original owner the dealer would have pointed that out to me. OR maybe the dealer didn't know?... wiat... bah

and yes, the antennae got stuck. It has an aftermarket deck, does the deck have to be plugged in for the antennae to go up and down? or should I have the dealer replace the antennae? :)
on the after market decks, what generally happens is that once it's on, the antenna goes up- even when you're playing a cd, and not the radio

most ppl have either converted it to the s2000 antanna, or put in a switch to make it go up only when we want it to

BUT at no point of time is the antenna supposed to stay in that position tho...it should either be all the way in (when the radio is off) or all the way out (when the radio is on)

I'd say that it just needs a good lubing, or maybe you can get them to replace it....
nice find , so how much did this baby cost
Somewhere in the high 6XXX

I think it's a fair price :)
with only that many KM's, I'd say the price is about right. My car has been thru 2 accidents and has almost 300000km, but I think that it would still sell for $4xxx.

Nice find!
I got my 94 Camry in May 2003...it had 2 previous owners, and was in great condition. The only thing we had to do was change the timing belt. Got mine for $3100 after a bit of bargaining.

i bought my 93 dx for less than $3k after taxed in Aug 2002.
spent close to $2k changing the engine seals, belts, new tires, brakes and 02 sensor,
i've already put nearly 40k miles on that piece of crap so far, and still going.
I got my 93 this year. Im the 3rd owner of it. The last guy had it less than a year and he had to go oversea's. It had 215,000 miles on it and was in mint condition. Just the antenna didnt go up or down. So far I've changed the struts and 3 motor mounts which in total cost me $220 including parts. I won my car on ebay for $846 but the guy stalled me for a week because he needed to use it. Since it took longer he knocked the price down to $750 after some hassling  I think teh reason it went for so cheap was because the seller didnt post pics, but I didnt care, I just wanted a Camry !! :p:

Heres the ebay link for reference  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2458776302
My Antena dosn't go up when my cd player turns on.
love the camry i will never part with my gen 3 NEVER:thumbup:
