Yay!!!

On Tuesday I picked up myself a 2005 Toyota Camry Sportivo. gen 5.5

Its wicked awesome. Its black, sports body kit, V6 and looks like it would bite your face off.

It drives sooooo nice, still has a year a half new car warrenty on it, and only had 16,000 km on the clock, so I am awesome happy with my deal.

I must admit I'm really happy with the Sportivo Kit, it looks really good. Still have stock rims on it at the moment. Probably likley to for a while what with just having dropped so much on the car as it is.

But even with stocks it looks excellent.

I love the extras you get with the V6 over the V4, digital displays, sports pedals, suede seats, leather steering wheel, six stacker CD, sway bar.

Its a pitty driving here with foglights on when its not foggy is illegal, as I love how it looks with them on. Lights up the backstreets nicely though

Congrats on the purchace, it's very nice, but the grille looks too much like the Mazda 6 (Atenza for you guys)...

NOT a bad thing, at all, but a Gen. 5 Sportivo grille looks much nicer, with the mesh..

I dunno, I disagree with that.

Heres a picture of my girlfriends cousins car, who has a 2004 Gen 5 Sportivo. I like the look of the gen5.5 grille much better, Not enough style in it for me personally, just looks bland.

I especially like the look of the gen 5.5 tail lights ALOT better

I love how the grille lifts up as part of the bonnet actually. Never had a car that did that before

Thanks man, I'm super happy with the car as it is too, I might put bigger rims on it at some stage down the line, but for now, I'm extreamly pleased.

Looks great. Is a Sportivo the same thing as a Camry SE or similar?

BTW: You need some real good all weather mats in there too.

here we have the Altise, Ateva, Sportivo and Azura for the gen 5s.

The Sportivo correspends roughly to the American Camry SE.

But things like the brakes, body panels, headlihgts, seats, suspensions, radio antenna and so on were developed especially for the Australian conditions, as the car is built here, so its not exactly the same as an SE. Around 77% if the components are localy developed according to wikipedia

the one im talking about has the outer shape of your grille, but the inside is mesh, with a shiny Toyota emblem in the middle..

That does sound interesting. Not sure I've seen anything like that around. Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of it if you ever remember where you saw it.

From where I'm standing though, I'm one happy lad with how she is right now. Looks heaps better than the standard Altise.

Maybe you are thinking of the Gen 6 Sportivo. I was having a look over a brochure of them last night, and they seemed to have the mesh grilles you were describing Razo-E.
