anybody know why my brake light is on? been on for over a year now..i thought it was a short in something cuz my emergency brake wasnt on. but maybe this light is for something else in the brake system? the fluid is fine and seems to brake fine....a little slower to stop than before but not too bad. is this light for the e-brake? thanks

The 2 most common causes are low brake fluid, and the e-brake switch out of adjustment.

My bet is on #1, low brake fluid.

thank you...i was looking at a stain on master cylinder...it was low. added fluid and light is off. thanks!
