Any reviews Bosch quietcast brake pads vs akebono brake pads?
I am doing front brake job in brothers 2005 Toyota corolla,
on my sister car (04 Matrix) I used akebono brake pads,
I wanted to try out the Bosch on Corolla (as guinea pig)
Have any one on this board used the Bosch?
On my car I am running OE Toyota brake pads that I bought from the Toyota dealer..

I have used only Bosch brand for brakes on any cars I've worked and I've never had any complaints. I did not hear about Akebono before but do they seem like a really high quality product. I am actually waiting for my brake pads to be done so I can try the TRD ones...

Wagner ThermoQuiets $26.00 from ROC Auto on wifes Vibe (Corolla). Ceramic and last like OEM Akebonos for 1/3 the price. I use these on all my vehicles, very little dust. She got 90K on OEM's, now150K and still look good.

I have typically used Akebono and just recently tried Advics. Both have given me excellent results.

Stock for me. just trashed Drum crap from Advance auto cause of noise. enough said
I agree. I've had BAD experiences with house brand parts from Advance Auto Parts. I purchased two rotors that were bad right out of the box--the runout was so horrible, I could actually see it by spinning the rotors. I had to go with a different brand and the problem was gone. If I had more time, I would have just ordered Advics (or another good brand) rotors online.

I got a house brand rebuilt starter from Advance Auto Parts that only lasted about 3K miles. I replaced it with a new TYC starter that I ordered online and haven't had problems since then (about 22K so far, I think).

In both cases, the discount coupon code from Advance Auto Parts resulted in such a low price, that I couldn't resist the temptation. Big mistake.

ADVICS are what I'm currently running, and I've been very impressed with them. They don't dust, are very quiet and stop excellent. Probably the best pads I've ever run. Here's the downside, I just priced a set for another SUV that needs the same pads, and the price has jumped through the roof, I'm going to use Bosch Quiet Cast on this one just because I've seen good reviews and they are now about half the price. Not my preference, but just to much of a price hike.
