I just tried to replace the rear shoes on my 2002 Camry but ran into an unexpected roadblock. I had everything figured out and apart except for the very last part where a pin holds the top of the rear shoe. The shoe is firmly secured to this pin by a brass-colored "c" clip that's thick with no give and wouldn't come off with a screwdriver or any other methods I tried. Admittedly I've never done this before, but I'd be finished now if it weren't for not knowing how to remove that clip! Had to put everything back together to ask for some help before trying again.
Can someone please tell me what tool you use and/or how to get this very strong and thick clip off the pin? There's almost no gap and it won't pry with any screwdriver I tried... I greatly appreciate a response.
