Hello all...I own a 1996 Corolla with 194+ miles on it and am getting brown foam in the radiator overflow and was needing some add
vice on where I should start.
Start by reverse flushing your cooling system using a quality flushing agent.
Brown sludge can be corrosion or it can be oil from a leaky head gasket.
After cleaning have your coolant tested for combustion gases to see if it may be a head gasket issue. If the brown comes back it may not be a combusion chamber leak but one between an oil passage and the coolant.
