Bulb Question

1025 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  dpanda88
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone know what product makes cars have the effect where the whole headlight is pure bright blue at morning and night. Like i see them on the roads almost everyday and I definately want them. I tried many bulbs to see if i can get that effect but no luck so far except a blue with a hint of white. But i really want that pure bright blue with absolutely no white. But anyways I have a feeling i need a HID kit for this but if anyone know if i can save some $$ on this then that be great.

u can get PIAA BRAND 0r nokya brand bulbs on ebay for this
buttttttttttt
it might melt your wires since your bulbs are rated at 55w and 65w
these blue bulbs are nice and stuff but might melt your wires so are they worth it?
HID kit would give u the effect safely, but will cost money
go to hidplace.com dude good prices
I have always had PIAA GT-X bulbs which put out a very bright blue/purple/white mix. Very bright light, never had a problem with them, and never have they burned out on me like most normal bulbs. I have them in my low and high beams. Worth the money IMO. Most people probably will say they're a waste.

There are some pics of the light in my Cardomain page, but they obviously don't do it justice through pictures. And they only way to get true blue bulbs is with an HID kit. Those "HID" Ebay lights are B.S. As you know, a real HID kit would work, but then you need projectors.
i guess my only way to go true blue is go HID kit... but will have to save up on some $$ as they dont come cheap especially when you dont even know how to install it haha.. even though i would love to try it myself but I dont want to screw up..
You need HID's.
Everything else blue is a tinted piece of dim shit. Period.
if you go hid way then you better get projectors and they have to be custom for the camry because we ain't blessed as the civic.
Are HID kits illegal when using it on the road? I heard from someone that you can get pulled over for that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Why would the be illegal? Isnt is exactly the same thing that pretty much all luxury cars and sports cars have now?

When I e-mailed customer service of www.hidplanet.com, they told
me that some places can't have HID because it is a distraction to the other drivers. I have had friends who have been pulled over because of HID. I dunno, maybe customer service didn't know shit or there's all kinds of HID out there.

Some cities, it is illegal if you put HIDs in your car since it was not from the factory. That's why you need to de-badge it, put Lexus emblems on so they think it was stock. j/k. :)
if you put hid's without retrofitting your car with some projectors then yes you will get pulled over because it will blind drivers on the road. Put on some projectors when doing hid's and then your fine.
hmm but i seen tons and i mean tons from where i live, markham, ontario a load of people putting HID lights (i guess they are, which has a very bright pure blue with no white) on their headlights and they don't get pulled over... sigh i really want that effect on my camry as it matches my blue/gray colour car but I just asked the price to install and buy the kit itself is about $400canadian in total. So.. i might just live on my blue with a tint of white for now.

PS: I don't like the projectors headlights that luxury cars have now a days which shows the HID xenon light. I hate that little headlight circle. I want the WHOLE headlight deal ;)
