Well, I don't know if it is my mind playing tricks on me or a new chime that has found its way into my truck.

Tell me if this is normal:

Here are the symptoms;
When turning the key into the "On" position (The position immediately before the "IGN" position and immediately after the "ACC" position), the buzzer makes five beeps. There are no warning lights that remain on once the truck has started and the scan gauge does not detect any error codes being sent to it. (The five beeps carry over to the ignition mode if I just turn the key and start it up with one turn.)

So whats the verdict?

And any hints as to how I remove the pic are welcomed.

I just went and reset the maintenance light even though it was not showing up and I still hear the five beeps after start up. Could it be a seatbelt warning? Or have these beeps always been there and I just never noticed?

PS I figured out how to delete gay boy.

Well, it was a damn seatbelt warning. If you do not have your seatbelt engaged upon start up, the computer beeps five times. I suppose I never noticed it after a year of owning this truck. I always remembered that this truck never gave you much shit about putting on your seatbelt like some cars so I never figured it to be a seatbelt warning. Some cars will beep till you freak out and cave in and some even come out with a big hand and slap you in the head to get you put it on. In any case, PROBLEM SOLVED.

On a side note, I love how I was the one who solved the problem to my original post. I believe that this is indicative of a very helpful and resourceful forum here at TN.

Re: 08 Seat Belt Warning - Disabling

You mean the 08's continue beeping until you fasten your seatbelt?

I hated the seatbelt warning as well. If I was just moving my car it sounded like I was going to be ejected through the roof for my own safety. Or it sounded like the beeping at the end of every episode of '24'. This drove me nuts until..... a link over at TacomaWorld.com mentioned disabling the 08 tone -- I followed the instructions and have felt peace since then.

Here is the instructions from TacomaWorld.com.

disable seat belt chime

Here is a mod originally from TRDtoy79.
It is one of my favorites because it's free and clever (only for 2008):

How much are you willing to pay for me to tell you the code that turns the seat belt chime off?

No, I'm not kidding. I have the code and tested it on my '08 Taco.

No takers??? Fine then! Hope you enjoy listening to that endless, annoying seat belt chime.

OK, I give. Here it is. BTW you guys are no fun :

1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.
