I'm thinking about moving to cali soon, will my 93 corolla make the cut? I know cali's emissions tests are pretty strict. If not, what are my options?

If you keep on top of your car's maintenance, and replace any failing part then normally you shouldn't have a problem.

The emissions test depends on what zip code you are moving to. California has a website covering inspections, a Google search will find this.

when I moved to Cali from NY I had to register and pass smog with my ex- '89 Integra. I passed.

It's just a matter of not being stop by any cop.​

I'm a Cal. resident & was stopped by a cop early 1 morning on my way to work at around 2:20am. I was speeding in the residential area here in Corona Calif. when he started following me & turned on his friggin' lights. Asked me to popped my hood saw my CAI, headers, & my stainless magnaflow then said I was loud in the hood. Took it for a noise level test & passed but I ended removing my CAI & headers back to all stock but I kept my magnaflow that's about it. Ofcourse i paid the darn fine for the modifications I did :sosad:. If I was stopped in L.A. County according to the cop it would have been mo' money for the fine.
*So my advice & it's up to your own decision...just think of the big hustle I went through.

One time there's this pizza guy who delivered in our house & I can tell he got a headers in his car but totally denied he got it when I asked him:clap:.

Alright I just moved to Cali. First I would go to the dealership and run a vin number search on the car. They can tell you everything the car was built with, like a cali emissions package. Second if you rereg the car, you can say it was purchased out of state and then you only need to pass federal emission test. Third replace the spark plugs, plug wires, o2 sensors, use seafoam, change the oil and then buy premium gas tne drive around for 20-30 min before you go to the trst.

there is not much you can do, because you will not know what you need til they tell you, if it needs anything. Don't do anything more than a good tuneup, or you could waste time and money. Some Smog test garages offer as pre-smog inspection and they will put that cost towards any work needing done, if needed later. But if your car is well maintained, just take it easy, as you just don't know till they test it..
