Hey guys - Searched using the forum and google. Didn't find anything.

The red/silver engine paint came off on my engine. The plastics valve cover that says Toyota, etc.

Want to repaint it. Use hi temp paint? Will it even work going on the plastic?

Sorry for the dumb questions thanks for the help.

Are we talking about the engine cover?

Hi-temp is not needed there if that's the case.

Yes, most paints these days will stay on many surfaces as long as you don't touch them much lol

I used a strong solvent and took off the paint from my engine cover, so I masked it off with blue painters tape and used silver and red krylon plastic paint and my cover looks better than the factory here is a pic. I cut around the letters carefully using a razor knife and went to action.

Anytime,
Its tedious work, cutting around the blue painters tape but well worth it in the end result and this paint will last much longer than what toyota puts on. I used a minor cleaner and the stock paint came off like I was erasing chock from a chock board..it was rediculous lol !!!!!
