Camry AllTrac Rear Suspension

What do you guys use for rear shocks?

I have an '89 Camry AllTrac that I just picked up, and I can't find anything beyond Monroes for it. Now I don't mind sensatracs, but I'd really prefer to get some KYB GR2s or Tokico Blues (preference on the latter for no paticular reason other than that's what I ran on my 84 Corolla).

I did search a bit, and it seems like I might be able to use Celica AllTrac parts? Does anyone have any more information on this?

My intent is to use the car for rally-cross/daily driver/snow car, so I have no plans on lowering it, nor ever going to adjustable coil-overs, but I could be convinced otherwise.

Any information would be appreciated.

unfortunately you're just left with monroes or OEM toyota parts... doesn't seem like anyone makes anything for the all-trac

You're kidding. There has to be something out there that fits these cars, even if it wasn't made specifically for it. I thought that I read that Celica AllTrac coilovers could be made to fit, and if that were the case, mayhaps some other non-Camry parts may.

There's always something that will work, and I'm not done searching yet ;)
From the information I have been able to gather, Celica Alltrac rears match up with the Camry Alltrac rears. The Celica Alltrac is also quite limited in its options too though (check out their forums - they are constantly on the search for suspension options for the rear!).

I haven't tried this first hand yet, but plan on putting in coilovers sometime this year. Maybe you can just use my stockers after I change them out!

KSport now makes coiloves for the ST184 (90-93 Celica GT) that will probably work just fine on the gen2 Camry. Don't quote me on it. ;)

As for the Alltrac Camry, KSport, Tien, and JIC make coilovers (I think the JICs are discontinued). for the ST185 and they should fit without problem. You might need spacers for the front main hub bolts (more info on ST185 vs. ST165 suspension is on alltrac.net).

A custom Koni+Ground Control setup is also on my list of things to investigate... I have the ability to do it, but I am tempted by the ease of just buying pre-made coilovers.
