come on, someone must know what im talking about.
It's called the Toyota Vista GT.Stevethecleric said:I dont remember exactly what it was called, but i remember someone mentioning a japan only gen2 camry that came with a 3sge stock.
i have searched for awhile, but i cant find any information on this car, does anyone have any info, or at least the correct name?
Japan switched to the Gen 3 Camry body style before we did. Their Gen 2s were something like 86-89.Stevethecleric said:thats interesting, i cant seem to find much more about the vista either, but form the pics that i did find it, a 1990 vista looks much different than a 87-91 USDM camry,

That's not a second gen though. It's a third gen.Roman said:Vista GT has only 165hp, it's 2nd generation of 3S-GE - it's quite old one they were produced 1990-92, so I guess they are not in a good condition nowdays.
There is. I have seen pictures of it. Same body style as our cars with the exception of a few small things and has a GT badge on the rear. You could recreate your own pretty easily. It's a pretty sumple engine swap and a strut brace is cheap.Stevethecleric said:no, im not going to try and convert my car to a vista GT, but i was under the impression that there was a car that was identical to the gen2 camry built with a strut bar, special badging and the 3SGE.
the Vista is not a gen2 camry, its a Vista, they have camry's in japan if im not mistaken, pretty sure its called a camry.
No. They don't. The Vista is what we call a Camry. Some body code as well. A second gen Vista is SV21. Just like a second gen Camry is SV21. They are one in the same. Very few Toyotas make it over here without a name change.Stevethecleric said:the Vista is not a gen2 camry, its a Vista, they have camry's in japan if im not mistaken, pretty sure its called a camry.
I have seen cars badged "Camry" in some pics taken in Japan.Kensuke said:No. They don't. The Vista is what we call a Camry. Some body code as well. A second gen Vista is SV21. Just like a second gen Camry is SV21. They are one in the same. Very few Toyotas make it over here without a name change.
