I have a 96 Camry with the factory alarm system. I'd like to get another keyfob for it. I assume this is a dealer item only. Is that true, and any idea what I should expect to pay for it?

A keyfob is the remote for the alarm.

I don't know much about the 96 alarm system, but I know you can buy the remotes off ebay and then program them yourself. Basically, look for a serial code on the back of your remote and then search for the same one on ebay. The remote might come with programming instructions, or try a search in this forum on "programming remotes".

I've done it for my 03 camry, and a few others on here have done it for older models like 99's as well.
