so today was my first day back at school
i picked up my girlfriend and headed to school

parked my car in the same spot as always

after school i walked on over to the parking lot
when i was about to open the door, i noticed someone had keyed my car!!!!:censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor:

so i was wondering what's my best option for getting my car fixed

what would other camry owners do?

:eek:Ouch, that looks like a deep scratch. I doubt a simple scratch remover will take it out, though you could always try! If not you may have to sand it down, fill it and then repaint it...
ah shit wednesday will be my first day of school now I'm scared to take my car.
I agree with kaa. Also, if the same thing happens again, put the alarm and cam recorder, let the authority know. GL! My friend caught the kid keying his car last year, and the school wrote a note in the kid's record.
If I were you, I will just buy 3M rubbing compound and cleaner wax to make it not so obvious, and protect the paint. If you have good skill, you can sand, fill, paint and do clear coat yourself. But since it may happening again, i won't spend too much time on it. Just make sure it won't getting worse. Until you graduate. Maybe at that time, you won't worry about too much about it.

I don't worry about too much 6 month after I got a scratch and I just wax it every time after car wash . It happens. Take it easy. :D

In that case hire some body guards to stand around your car! Make sure nobody gets near it:lol:

Exactly, why spend all that time an effort when it may happen again, sure it may bother you at first but you may learn to live with it! I know I have come to treat my scrathes as part of the car..lol:lol:
Get touch up paint and call it a day. Tomorrow, you'll have another area thats scratched or dented. Its the first damage that always hurts. All others after that would mean nothing and you'll brush it off.
Doesn't anyone have insurance? Comprehensive should cover the damage.

But why would you want to claim that on insurance only to have them increa the rates on you? Not worth it.
how about try this i saw them at pepboys

Then you must have the wrong insurance. A comprehensive claim will not raise my rates.

My insurance policy does not penalize you for comprehensive claims either. Call your insurance agent or look at your policy.

I had to have my windshield replaced two years ago, and it was well over $1000, and my comprehensive coverage protected me- and my rates have not increased.
Probably deductible... To me, it's $500. Besides, my friend's insurance raises his rate after such a claim like this, so I don't think it's comprehensive.
Or keep the record clean.

i've been taking mine since last year when i got it
never happened till now>

i notified the school
ahaha
ima just have the security stand around my car
i also made sure to tell them they need to keep the parking lots more secured
last year someone slashed my friend's 00 civic

but since it was the first day of school
there were many freshmen and what not
so it could be ANYONE :/

yeah but i'm surprised because since last year i've been taking it to school
but not until now did it happen:|

where can i purchase that?

luckily it's my senior year in high school then i'm out!!!

what touch up paint would you recommend?
because i've seen some and the color is noticeably different:eek:

yeah but a dent or scratch wouldn't hurt as bad
it's the purposeful ones that are worse>:|
Contact Richard Lin at Show Car Detailing. Tell him Isaac sent you and he'll take good care of you. Or you can come to me since I do touchup/wetsand repairs quite often lately
I'm just gonna take my sleeper rolla to school. Piece of mind all night long. :D

i'll call up the insurance company tomorrow and see what they say about it
i know it's under full coverage but my dad said he had a 500 dollar deductible
so i don't know if it would really be worth it when i can just go pay less to get that area fixed up instead of the whole paint job
