Hi.

I just purchased a 2012 Camry and unfortunately it only came with one key. The dealership wants over $200 for one. I can get this one for $22.00.

Where have you had luck getting it cut and programed?

The locksmith will do this key for $75.00, but wont guaranty it since I didn't purchase the key through him. $120.00 if I get it through him.

Thanks-

Really now, this isa no-brainer. You pay the 120 to the locksmith and let him take the hit if it doesn't work. From your perspective it is cheap insurance, unless of course you live in a casino and enjoy gambling.

If your camry uses the standard key (not smart key), most if not all locksmiths can cut it. Heck, I've had homedepot cut it for my gen6. It's Lexus keys that are very hard to cut as those are laser/high security cut. Programming is tricky as you need toyota techstream to program it yourself or take it to the dealer (which is not cheap). I have techstream and have programmed many toyota and Lexus keys myself, no problem.

I'd like to be able to program my extra key, but I haven't able to get the Immobilizer section in TechStream working. I've tried a couple of different laptops, one with WIN7 (64-bit) and one with WIN10 (64-bit). I was able to get the alarm and trunk functions working no problem on the extra key.

Any suggestions? I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

Buy the key from Amazon, get a locksmith or a dealership to cut it for you ($25) and invest in a techstream cable ($20-25 from Amazon/Ebay).
The techstream cable will allow you to program new keys, but there's a host of other features you can change, and parameters you can read and diagnose, the cable will pay off for itself in no time.

Here's how I programmed my key with techstream:

You'll need Windows XP for maximum compatibility.

Hi SpeerKar9,
The listings on Ebay describe a 22 pin cable in addition to the Techstream cable.
Is this cable needed for Camry 2016 or Camry 2011 or do I just need the Techstream cable ?
Toyota used to have 22 pin OBD connector for older models (1995 and before). Standardized to 16-pin since. You can also do a quick check by looking at the connector in your car.
