Proud owner of a 2005 double cab, long bed. Damn BEAUTIFUL truck!

Problem is i skimpped on the stereo and got the cheap-o toyota unit (which sucks by the way). Anyways....I want to install an I-pod interface and have read that I need the unit with the CD changer output to do this.

I have the Toyota brand stock unit (which sucks BTW)....the only buttons on my unit are
seek AM FM1 FM2 DISK SCAN

I'm assuming that I have the unit that does not have the patch for the CD-changer???

Is this correct? and if so.....is there any way to hard wire an I-Pod interface into this Gem of a radio?

Thank you in advance.

Success!

Went to Circuit City and bought the usa spec DF-TOY for 59.00 bucks http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/USA-...18956/catOid/-15421/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do Cheaper than crutchfield. Took home.

Followed these installation instructions http://homepage.mac.com/ebones/PhotoAlbum13.html

15 minutes later everything perfectly installed.

Ran the wire into the glove box (which is very easy to remove).

For others facing this issue.

I have the very basic stock toyota head unit (no CD changer controls).

The DF-TOY unit plugged in perfectly right out of the box. All needed parts included.

Just used a peice of velcro for the interface unit to be installed behind the radio (BTW...there is a TON of space behind the radio).

I really suck at installing anything....but this job was a cinch.

Thanks for the help yall.
