I noticed that the new Camrys have an instrument cluster similar to the Honda Accord now. Toyota calls it Optitron. It is on their website under Camry XLE Interior.

My question is, Can I buy this Optitron part from Toyota and install it in place of my current, boring, gauge cluster in my 2002 Camry XLE V6?

Or does it require a lot of ripping things apart to make it work?

Any ideas?

Thank you,

I hate to revive an old thread, but I've been wondering about this too. My guess is that it won't work if you just drop it in, as the Gen 5.5 Camry is a 5-speed automatic, and has PRD32L instead of PRD2L for the gear indicators. Obviously, that's a potential problem, but maybe it isn't and it'll just skip 3. Plus, the mechanism for the gauges is completely different. I'm not an electrical engineering major or expert, but maybe the electrical requirements will be different as well. I have the electrical wiring diagrams for both Gen 5 and 5.5, and I can't make any sense out of it. All I can say is that they are definitely not the same in some places.
