My SuperTaco is a USA market truck. It is rated for 3500# towing.
I called Toyota USA and was told the Tow Package option(6000#) consists of a 130 amp alternator, trans oil cooler, engine oil cooler, & hitch/wiring. No suspension or brake upgrades. I also found out later that the Tow Package option trucks have a green clutch fan spacer/snout, as opposed to an orange.
I was told by Toyota Canada that all Canadian trucks have the Tow Package features, even if they have no hitch. Can somebody confirm that all the V6 Canadian trucks have the engine oil cooler, trans oil cooler( if auto), and check the color of the fan spacer/snout, orange or green. Also important, could you look at the door post sticker to see what it is rated for. If all Canadian market trucks have the engine oil cooler, I'm going to find one at the breakers and retrofit.

Have a look at what SuperTaco is up against towing. I'm moving up from Lil' Bigfoot to bigger Bigfoot....finally a shower!!! and A/C to boot.

False. NOT all Tacoma's have the Towing upgrades. Only those with the "Offroad" or "TRD" packages have those features. The rest of the V6 models tow 5000lbs. Check Toyota.ca for exact specs.

well, after a bit of a look it looks like my truck does have the engine oil cooler. This is the one that is on the RH side of the engine block near the rear. Don't know if the Tow Package option includes an external one, or just this. Anybody out there have the Tow Package option and can tell me?

if you have the green clutch fan, then you have the package. i tow a six thousand pound boat through 120+ degree weather everyweekend....blew up two trannies now its fine with a billit torque converter and two tranny oil coolers.
