Good afternoon everyone we need help I have never seen this in my entire life working on any car. My sister owns an 89 toyota camry V6, my wifes car got sick and we had to leave it parked for a few days, so my sister told her to use hers. Well she took the car to work and parked it. after getting off work she tried to start it. She said while starting the car it started to make a noise like the powersteering had no liquid. so she turned the car off and went to buy some power sterring fluid. She came back put the fluid back in and still the noise. But at this time it had gotten louder to the point of really bothering her ears. She look in the engine comparment and said that she saw bits and pieces flying every where from the Power Steering belt. I told her over the phone that the belt must be breaking or will be broken that at this time could not leave work to fix it. I Said sorry that she would have to manhandel the car because of the no power steering untill she got home. She did and the car stood parked this past friday on saturday I got on the ground and looked at the power steering and sure nuff there was no belt. But to may surprize I looked at the crank pulley and the the outer ring wich holds the AC/ALT. belt was not right sort of moved. What was left of the power Steering belt had rapped out around the back of the pulley. I kept looking at it for a few second and placed my hand on the Crank pulley and the outer ring just came off????? The rest of the pulley was and still is on the car with the bolt intacked. I have never seen this happen can some one relate to what just happened. Oh by the way I have to fix the car because not only the proper thing to do it was in my wifes hands when it happened...... Please help
