My car does not run!! Everything starts up normal, the engine turns smoothly, and transmission seems to be working fine (It was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago by AAMCO). But when I put it in 1st (or any of the gears), to put the car in motion, the engine just revs as in neutural mode. But two weeks before this incident, the wheels shifted irradically, like as if there was a severe alignment problem, but it goes away after i restarted the car. This happened on a seldom basis the past two weeks, then this happens!! Can anyone help me out? Is this something I could fix? Please comment. Oh and I drive a AR92 GTS.

It doesnt move at all right now in drive or reverse?

If so check the axels, maybe one of them snapped

Thanks for your inputs!!

All gears, even reverse would not make the car run.

UPDATE: I noticed a rambling noise coming from the car when i put it in gear? I know it's not from the engine. Maybe from the transmission? :( So do i need to change the clutch or the whole deal??

how can i fix this??? Clutch or the transmission?
You should start to take a look at it. Are the axels busted? If not one thing down and we can start looking at the harder thing such as the clutch, the input and output shafts etc...... You need to start a process of elimination or take it to someone so they can look at it.

Thanks for the inputs. i found some balls on the ground and traced them to the origin. guess what? the c.v. boot was opened and busted, and hence the grinding noise. So i am going to replace the whole axle with a Napa remanufactured one for 56.00. It doesn't seem too hard to do it my self. but it would help with a step by step walk through, which isn't available on this website yet.

i read that you have to drain the gear oil first, which i dont know how to. help anyone???

I just did it a few weeks ago. It was more of a pain in the butt than I was expecting, but it wasn't to bad. You do have to drain the gear oil, don't listen to the people that say "only a little bit comes out" my transmission barfed at least a quart, probably 2 on the floor when I took the first axle out :p

changing the transmission oil is really easy, there is a big bolt on the bottom of the transmission, take if off and drain it into a pan, and then put it back in and fill up the big bolt (same size) on the side of the transmission with 75w90 (I used mobile1 and it's amazing :) ) until oil comes out of the hole, and then bolt it back on when oil doesn't come out anymore... I bought a tube attachment thing for the end of the gear oil at advance auto and it probably make it a lot easier.

that being said, yeah, you should probably just take it back to aamco...
