In a series of unfortunate events (no realation to the film) I managed to lose my keys with my security fob, have my battery die in the cold weather, and have my alarm reset, thereby arming the kill switch with no way to deactivate it. And i need the damn car to get to college. So anyone with knowlege feel free to help me out. I do most things on my car but electrical ain't one of them. I would like to remove it totally and install the viper, but just knowing how to get rid of the kill switch would be great so i can drive.

i assume you're talking about the starter kill (immobilizer).

You're system should have a vallet button, typically hidden under the steering column, hood release...just in that general area. that should disable the alarm for the time being. but since i dont know what kind of system you have i couldnt help.

if you're talking about the oem system, then i think its time to tow it to a stealership.

Lol I had a spare key when it happened to me, but I nearly got done by this as well. The previous owner installed a alarm and immoboliser... which are ok, they are cheap but one aspect I like is its connected to my hood, so if they try to fiddle their they will get a suprise! N e way... when my battery died in the remote, I could turn the alarm off via a special key and get inside my car, but there was no way to turn the immoboliser off so I couldnt drive!!!

Tbh I dunno how you can get around it, immobolisers are desgined so your avg criminal cant just find a switch and turn it off... me thinks you are going to need professional help on this. This actually gives me incentive to get the batterry on my old and now spare remote, because if my current one goes I have no back up!!!!!

Good luck

no idea as to teh make of the car security, i am trying to find that out. So far all i have found is an unmarked black horn with wires runiing through the firewall. My fob was unmarked so i don't know what brand it is. I am pretty sure it is aftermarket though, since it looks like it was installed pretty shoddily. I really don't want to have to take my dash apart to find this crap.

After a day of search, i think i founf the model. Prestige platinum Model APS-150-A 2 button remote system. Apparently a pretty good system. I now have 2 options, disable it and get a new one or figure out how to salvage it. Is there any way to salvage this system with a new remote or womething?
