I have a 2009 toyota camry le 4 cyl with 170000 miles. i had my rear main seal replaced because there was an oil leak. now after i got it back from the shop, there is a oil leak near the front motor mount and my engine had gotten louder when i accelerate. also it smells like paint or something inside my car. what did the shop do?

Sounds like the timing chain has slipped or broke.
Really doubt that. If it had broken (unlikely) the car would not run. If it had slipped (even more unlikely) the car would either not run or run very poorly.

Did the shop pull the engine to do the rear main seal, if so they had to disconnect the exhaust and it could be leaking causing the louder acceleration noise. As far as the fluid leak you really have to look for the source. It may or may not be related to the seal repair.

I would take it back to the shop immediately the longer you wait, it makes them say it wasn't their fault. The exhaust seal probably needs to be replaced. Most likely you will have to pay for that. Is the seal to the passenger or driver side. If its by the pass. it could be the crankshaft seal or camshaft seal. Or it could be left over oil when the car was leaking. You should pressure wash the bottom and engine. For the smell in the car just wind down the windows and blast the fan. Some stuff probably needs to burn out like oil.
