Hello thinking of purchasing a Rav 4 later in 2015. Never owned a SUV before
question on cargo space on the newer Ravs

Does the rear seat fully open and go all flat

I was wondering if it is possible to fit a bike - mountain bike fully into the vehicle, without taking any wheels off the bike,

any cyclists in the forum who done this? would i be able to do that with the Rav? thanks

Have not folded ours down yet to check since I do all my bike hauling in my Tacoma but did a quick measurement from the back end and it was around 37" of height so a road bike around 56cm size would fit with the front wheel removed and a fork mount.
But not enough length for both wheels to stay on Road or Mountain.
A typical road bike is 6' long with both wheels mounted.
Roof rack or get a hitch mount.

Even if you can fit a bicycle in the car why would you risk scratching or damaging a brand new car?

That's a very good point! If you plan to carry a bike inside, why not save your money and buy a used RAV? You will scratch it anyway.
Or, buy a special bicycle rack.
