Not too sure how to fix your CD problem, but as for the white smoke, have you been doing your oil chances and other ref. maintainence?

The Toyotas are notorious for Valve seals slightly leaking, The smoke is caused by the oil burning that seeped past the seals.

Your not burning anything. Every car has white vapor coming out of the exhaust when its cold. Your gas mileage also goes down by a few miles when its cold. Your engine is fine. Its normal for it to have white vapor. IDK about the CD player though.

White smoke usually means burning antifreeze. You should get that checked.
Most people confuse Blue oil burning smoke as being white. Considering this is happening at start up, it would suggest the oil from the valve seals. If it was infact antifreeze, it would smoke more after the engine has been running and the cooling system was pressurized which would make wherever the antifreeze was leaking into the combustion chamber more due to the increase of pressure.
