A friend of mine used to have a Toyota Celica liftback (I think 1976 or close to that year) that had the lamp failure indicator in the center console. I am searching for photos of this indicator. If memory serves (the last I saw his car was in 1998 before they sold it), the indicator had an outline of the car and the corresponding section would light up when a bulb failure was detected. However, I cannot find photos of this anywhere and searching the forum does not seem to yield any results. Can anyone please help me at least identify the model year? I know it was a liftback but not sure if it was a GT or not.

I owned a '76 GT liftback it had an LED indicator at the bottom of the console a whole bunch of info was displayed there like low washer fluid. Here's a pic a bit hard to see it's the red unit at the bottom in front of the shifter. Is this what you are thinking of?

That very well could be it- thank you! My mind was picturing something slightly different but it might just be that over the course of nearly 20 years some of the details went blank and replaced by my own imagination.

That particular body style in the liftback was a really nice looking car and fun to drive around in.

Again, thank you for the photo!

It's called the OK Monitor in Japan or the ESP (Electro Sensor Panel) in America.
It detects things like worn brake pads, brake circuit failure, low washer fluid, etc.
For the US spec Celica it was on the 76 and 77 model year RA29 GT liftback and RA24 GT coupe but not the RA24 ST coupe.
It was also available on the similar year Corona RT114.
