well if the 6 is similar to the 5 speed, ive done it.
youll need a 24 mm socket, and a hand pump from your auto parts store(4-8 bucks)
on the bottom side of the tranny is the drain plug, and on the opposite side (a few inches higher) is the fill plug. both 24mm. loosen your fill plug, then loosen your drain plug, you can probably reuse the crush washers . after youre confident its all out, retorque the drain plug to 27 ft lbs. use the hand pump to fill the tranny back up till the fluid runs out the fill hole. retorque to 27 as well. this is off the top of my head, check your owners manual for specs on fluid capacities and torque settings. as a side note , the rear diff, and transfer case follow the same directions as this tranny fill. the front diff has hex head patterns for the fill and drain,,,if im not mistaken... i havent done the front diff yet but its gettin done this summer. good luck matt
almost forgot, your tranny calls for 75w90 gear oil . i used redline mt-90. theres also amsoil, royal purple,mobile1, ect.....

I tried switching because ive been having a slight grind between first gear and second gear,,,,the winter weather makes it so much worse.
i dont know if you will notice a differance or not, i wanted something a little easier to shift in the winter,,its 2 degrees here right now and dropping, so for me, the synthetic soothed most of the hard shifting i was having,
some guys claim to have increased mpg after switching everything over to synthetic.
Im not sure if any of thats true, but what the hell, it wont hurt to try it , as long as your using the specified weight oils. good luck

Yep what hoytoyota said same for 6spd. I reused same washers. After full syn, tranny feels about the same, its not a magic bullet. But seems smoother in colder weather. Was -10F this am. As far as mileage, I've switched all gear and motor oil to full syn. Mileage is slightly better than before (more noticable in winter).
