There was a hole at the bottom of the full-size spare tire well. You could poke your hand through the driver's rear wheelwell and touch the spare, literally, as it's a big tire and stands upright at one side of the trunk.
Control arms were on the way out.
A brake line went out, happened in two places at two different times.
It was an odometer rollback victim (330,000km estimated actual, 230,000 on the clock).
And it's one of the reasons why it's imperative to have your car rustrproofed if you live in any climate that involves road salt or sea salt in the air.
