Cherrybomb-Glasspack / Muffler

Anybody has experience with such mufflers? Autozone has it for $20. I don’t care much about its performance. But I’d like to know how long it will last. Is it very loud? Don’t want to draw attention from cops or neighbors.

yes there cheap, and will get load. not really bad enough to call attention. i had one on an s10 that only took about 3 months to burn out. i coundnt stand to drive more then about 15 miles cuz it just made my ears ring. spend a few more bucks and get a decent stock replacement.
Glass packs are cool

Here's a short video:

Very old crappy video of my newly installed exhaust system. The glasspack got alot louder after a few months after it blew out all the packing. Please note if your area is prone to rust, don't get one. Mine is flaking apart after a year.

I am changing it soon. And yes, It will set off alarms in parking lots.

Both clips sound good. But I will go for more relialbe/robust ones. Suggestions are welcome.

you could go to the junk yard and rip a muffler off a chevy 350. they're stainless IIRC, and would be fairly free flowing... if it will fit under your truck.

cheap steel parts = rust bucket in a few months. :)
vicoor, ive never heard yyour truck before. i like it

Well let's see.....

everything in my signature plus a hand built catback sytem comprising of 2 1/4" pipe and a cherrybomb.

the head modifications, cam, and lightened flywheel all add to the effect.

the first tailpipe clip is with the cat installed, and the second is with the "test pipe" installed in place of the cat.
Has your cherrybomb glasspack burned out?

You can really hear that cam, I love it.
For $20, I think I'll go for that. Vicoor, nice sound.
my truck is by far the loudest truck around. I have no way of recording audio, but you'll have to take my word for it. I set my brother's car alarms off just starting it and again when I'm idling to back out. It's wonderful. It's a flowmaster single chamber muffler posted just after the cat and a turn down right after that. No pipes visible out the side or anything. Turn downs all the way.

22r with an RV cam, and Single chamber. It was as loud as I could get without sacrificing necessary backpressure.

I think it is safe to say that after about 30,000 miles the glasspack is "burnt out"

It is rather loud, and if you do not want to draw attention I would not recommend one
Vicoor - What would you recommend if I only wanted a mid-range type and not a loud one like you said with the glass pack under $40-$50?

Thanks!
