Greetings:

I have an 88 P/U and the choke heater isn't working. Toyota wants $200 for a new one. Any way to repair it yourself??
What's the correct resistance? Can the choke heater be removed without removing the choke shaft that goes into the carb? I'm working in a parking lot and the weather isn't good for a time consuming job. I was thinking that after taking the choke heater apart, I could substitute the heater element with anything comparable with similar resisitance.
I would hate to cough up 200 clams for this. wrecking yards don't like to sell parts off of the carb and it probably wouldn't be any better than the one I have.

Thanks guys,

blueboy
