I love the Forum BTW. Learned so much. I have a corolla 2010 S with 38,000 like others here, I have the vibration/shaking while idleing in Drive. Took it to the dealership, got the throttle cleaned and worked great that day but the next day it went back to it. Going back in a few days to get oil change any suggestions on what to do next?? Should I convince dealer to tap into the computer and bump the idle? Should I just learn to live with it? Very frustrating. A million Thanks:confused:

Wow, I never noticed this until I saw your post. Yeah, happens sometimes to me as well. How bad is it, because on mine its a just a really slight vibration? I think it would be better if you just let it be, although if the dealer can bump up the idle that might fix the problem.

First of all, :welcome: to TN!

As far as your vibration at idle it seems more common on many cars that I've driven over the years. I'm not so sure that you will ever get rid of it all as motor mounts wear in al loosen up a little. ;) Let us know what the dealer says to you anyway though.

Can it be the MAF sensor? Try clean it w/a can CRC MAF sensor cleaner

I was thinking the same thing, but if it was the MAF sensor the RPMs would be bouncing up and down at idle. If I understand him correctly, the car just vibrates at idle. I'm basing that on my experience when my MAF sensor died, so its a bit more extreme then having a dirty MAF, but I would imagine the symptoms would be similar.

Are you running an after-market air filter?

Every car with a dirty MAF I have worked on idled fine. They just had no power when accelerating and usually threw a P0171 code because it thought it had less air than it did.

Also these engines aren't vey refined. Reliable and efficient yes. Smooth and quiet not so much. Id say it's normal.
