I just bought another pickup, it's a 92, 2wd 22re. The previous owner used Stop Leak to take care of some radiator problem but I want to put in a new one.

What's the best way to clean out all the junk that Stop Leak leaves around from inside the engine? and will Stop Leak hurt the water pump?

Oh god. That stuff is horrible.

Keep runing water through the engine, hopfally you can flush out as much as possible. Then get a new rad. I would do the water pump just incase.

before you go and pull the rad, I would get a flush kit. The old rad will catch all the crap like a filter while all the other crap will go to the ground.

Agree with OmegaBlue, if you do a chemical flush have the old radiator still installed as it can plug up from the debris. Make sure you flush the heater core, hoses, etc with lots of water.
