Hello everyone. I'm experiencing a clicking sound at low rpm when I brake. It can be annoying is it something that needs to get replaced or a major concern? I did a search and different things come up. Anyone else delt with this?

Is it better described as a clunk rather than click? I experience a more of a clunk in the brake pedal mechanism when braking, around the 70% area of application. Doesn't happen unless coming to a stop where the pedal is fully depressed, and right past half way down it makes a fairly audible clunk. I feel a smal clunk in the pedal as well, I can feel it in my foot.

Apparently it's nothing according to the dealer, and I actually haven't noticed it in the last few months. Not sure if I'm just used to it now or if it stopped doing it. Hmm. At any rate, next service check up you have mention it and have them check it. If your vehicle is braking strong however, no worries immediately.

Clunk is a better description. I feel I've gotten use to it as its not as annoying as when I first noticed it. Was a concern to me because I had read on here that they had the same problem and took it to a dealer and they needed to take apart the dashboard to get to the problem. Is this a common issue with the 11gen?

Would you say that what you experience is similar to what i described previously? Does the problem replicate for you if you follow the steps i explained?

It does I'm going see if I notice it again because I sorta have ignored it and haven't payed much attention to it. I'm not due for service for about another month I will mention it to them.

Ah ok. Keep us posted please. I haven't mentioned it to my dealer yet simply because its not interfering with anything yet. I intended to mention it last time but it clean slipped my mind. Plus, i dont brake much, i have a 1hr commute to and from work every day so i tend to just drive by routine.

Would be curious if it is an actual problem, so if you find out before me please post results. My next appt is due at 14,760 if i recall correctly, which should only take me a few weeks to reach since im at 11,700 right now.

Im averaging 30+k a year right now thanks to a lot of travel on weekends plus 500 a week for work. 2,000 a month for work alone. Woot! Good thing im averaging 40.2mpg

Is the clicking inside or outside the cabin? I asked about the brakes clicking during my test drive when I bought my car and the sales person told me that the clicking is the brake assist kicking in and it's totally normal.

Mine is definitely audible only from inside the cabin. Maybe if you got under it you could hear it, but standing outside the car, no. Only when brake is depressed past half or 60%, and its a single *Clunk* that i can feel come from around the firewall area and feedback to my foot in the brake pedal.

That is what I am experiencing it's not all the time just what you said about 60% then the clunk I have never experienced this with other vehicles so I find it a concern..I've read on here people have had the same clunk and haven't seen any one really give a solution just one where they had to take apart the dashboard and get to problem and replace a part.
