cluster/speedo for 96 t100

hey guys!
Just picked up 96 t100 with unknown mileage (tmu on the title) and bad cluster. I took it out to see whats wrong with it and realized that it's got wrong cluster in it, does not belong to this car. It does not have a place to put speedometer cable in so cable is just spinning free. Therefor, tech and speedo are not working. My other lights: (CEL, seatbelt, battery, airbag) are all there and working. Temp guage works, gas gauge works, battery gauge works and oil level (or pressure?!) gauge IS NOT working. So i have few things to sort out. I have checked oil level and its fine, so do you guys think that I have a bad sending unit or could it be part of this cluster that is not working properly?
Also, where can I find used cluster that would actually fit my car? I dont care what mileage it reads (could be 500k, car is tmu anyway) but i want to fix it and at least know how fast am i driving.

Is this the 3.4L or the 2.7L engine? Auto/manual transmission? Got the part number off the cluster you pulled?

it's the 3.4, 5 speed manual. I dont have the number now, i put the cluster back in but it's not hard to pull it out if part number would help. But one that i have is obviously wrong so not sure how number would help?! I searched car-part.com and they have tons of options; with or without tach, with or without cruise etc. I am not sure how mine is suppose to look:headbang: so dont know what to search for.

You should be able to find the part on www.car-part.com and select the button fer "MPH, cluster, w/tach (6 cyl), MT"... ;)

thanks! u did search for 97, mine is 96;)...I did search for 96 and it comes back with different results so probably not the same part, maybe only fits 96. I will call some of these guys this morning. Do u know if some of 96 models came with cluster that does not have speedometer cable pluged in? just regular connector?

can someone look at this for me? I am curious if the 4runner cluster from early 90 is the same as the T100? before you answer look at this ebay auction. I dont plan to buy one (nothing is wrong with mine) but I wanted to buy a gauge bezel and the one on ebay for the t100 has no tach and they dont make one so I was just looking around on there and noticed how close the 4runner is. let me know what you think...

Yes...the bezel should work just fine. You could always ask the seller though. ;)

my T has a tach. i think 4x4 manual came with them. I think you could try, but it might not work just like your current cluster.

can you at least post up a pic of what cluster you have in there now. we can then see if thats what most of us have and tell you what you may have. so you truck is a 96 v6, mine is too!
