How long should a clutch last on a RAV4?

I have a 2003 RAV4 with only 21K on it and was told the clutch needs to be replaced! I definately do not ride the clutch as I drive.

Has anyone else had this problem?

i just had my clutch in my camry last 160k miles/12 years. i think it's time to change mechanics.

dam, that should still be covered under warranty tho, was it a toyota dealership that told you this?

Yup - the dealership told me this. He tells me nothing else was wrong and of course it's not covered under the warranty.

I hope I'm getting the truth from them.

Driving a 99 corolla. Just changed the clutch 2 weeks ago. That's 5 years and 220,000km of use. If the clutch does need to be replaced I'd go back to Toyota and tell them to replace it n/c.

in haiti our datsun wagon was on it's oe clutch and it was about 20yrs old
