New member here and hello to all. Have a 2001 camry with 86000 miles on it and my cel came on and took it to AutoZone and came up with this code. It means Purge Valve Soleniod. Has anyone done this and what is involved with changing it
a trouble code is not always a signal to go change parts.
the most common cause of evap codes, believe it or not, are owners not tightening the fuel cap after filling up at the gas station. I think the next most common cause is, well, the purge solenoid. can't say that's common on a camry.
unplug your - wire on your battery, turn on your headlights just about 10 sec, leave your battery like that for 15 mins, plug it back in. Hopefully it will clear your code. If not take it to toyota dealer tell them to run a code check for you. Normally, when they're runnning the code check, the light will turn off if there's nothing wrong with the car.
