Here are some questions for ALL of you guys with coilovers:

1) when you install them - do you adjust the spring perches so that the spring is free to hang? so that the spring is slightly compressed? so that the spring is very compressed?

2) is your car FWD or RWD?

3) approx. how much front and rear camber are you running?

4) approx. how do you have your front and rear damping set? (soft, medium, harsh)?

5) what brand & model coils do you have, and do you like them?

6) approx. how many miles have you had the coils on your car?

please include whether or not there is another method of adjusting ride height on your coilover kit, and why you have it setup the way you do

1 slight preload...can't remember how much
2 RWD - right wheel drive :D
3 can't remember...it's in factory tolerance, but to the negative end
4 harsh/harsh (and I wish they actually were)
5 Tein Flex - not so much
6 15,000 km
7 seperately adjustible ride height and spring preload. I have my height set to 1/2 inch higher than Tein recommended specs. Tein specs are way to f'n low for such a soft setup. If the dampers were better at controlling the spring, it would be alright. At recommended specs, all speedbumps were no go zones. Automatic car wash guide rails scraped car frame rails. Open pit shops that have rails to keep cars from falling in were no go zones. Engine hoist legs didn't fit under car. Car had to be driven on 2x4 to get low profile jacks under hte lift points....basically it was completely impractical, and wrong given the limitations of the coilovers themselves. Would never buy another set. Wouldn't hit them with someone elses D**k...

1) adjusted so they stay put when i installed them

2) FWD

3) neutral now, -2 front -1 rear by the end of the month

4) about halfway front and rear with the rear set slightly harder for oversteer

5) ksport with custom springs and valving

6) I have had them for about 1000 miles now, they have about 5k on the coils total
