Since the temps have fallen in the last 3 weeks my 2005 DC/LB has begun to run rough.
Temps between zero and 25 degrees. Added some dry-gas. No difference.
Dunno if this is temperature related or something else. Sometimes idles smooth/sometimes not and truck seems more "throaty" in sound.
Mostly notice it in steering wheel between 50-60 mph.
Starts fine and what not, just doing this 'thing'. Just curious...
Thanks in advance!

cold makes more strain on motor, but I havent heard of motor running rough, or idling 'problems' due to temperature.

My exhaust is loudest when cold out for the first couple minutes until the metal heats up, if thats what you mean by 'throaty'.

It's been into the negative temps here (-10*) and I have had no problems. The RPMs don't get as high as they would when its a little warmer, but I just take a little extra time (5 mins or so) for the thing to warm up before I drive it...after that it's fine.

Recall?

Hi I'm just negotiating to purchase a 2005 4x4 crew cab Tacoma. I live in Canada and it is minus 25. When the sales guy went to start the truck it kept dying. I left after and hour of them not being able to start it. When I went today they informed me that had added gas line anti-freeze and there is a recall for a part for the fuel pump for 2005's. I don't know exactly what the part is but perhaps that is your issue, as well?? Good Luck!

They probably had dead batteries or have no gas?? Or, if it was a manual transmission, he probably don't know how to start it. I have an 05 and never heard of a recall for the fuel pump. check www dot nhtsa dot gov for recalls.
