The third generation started in 2010 and it looks like this:

I know that the yaris sedan was changing in 2014 and it will look like this:

However, they also have a hatchback version.

Is this version going to be the new fourth generation yaris or are they gonna keep bringing the third generation. I am confused the newest generation changed just two years ago. I am guessing they are gonna change again so that the sedan and the hatchback looks the same. Someone knows what's going on ?

The current USDM is the second gen Yaris in the U.S. Technically the third but it was sold as the ECHO sedan and Yaris sedan overseas. Anyway so the second gen they sold the Yaris sedan and hatch. The second gen Yaris (or under that name) came out 2011 as a 2012. They plan to come out with a sedan I believe...

I guess one thing to consider is just cause its for China doesn't mean it will be for here. Platform wise its the same but outside design is different. They might bring that design to this market, IDK. The current Yaris isn't selling that great. I see waaay more previous hatch. Its rumored that Toyota and Mazda will pair up for a sub-compact so we'll see about that. I know its complicated with global cars.

I have a feeling that is Chinese/S. Asian market only but I could be wrong.
