Are your seat covers pink camouflage?
I think that's a combination of the lighting, camera and maybe even sun fade on the covers. No way Doc would have pink in his truck, well maybe if there was a chick in there, but no way he would decorate his truck with it.

Those look like the urban camo colors of white, shades of gray and black.

To stay on topic, that's a nice vault!

WOW! Can you be a bigger DICK? Damn. It's comments like these that make people not want to participate in forums like these. The guys just trying to help out and participate. Some people may have been members for years and others may have just joined up and may not even know something like this exists. Lay off!

Hey, Thanks for sharing. I had no idea that this existed. I appreciate you letting us know. BTW, does it have any mounting options to securely mount it to the truck? (Oops, I better do my search first!) :naughty:

Thanks

Perfect fit in the existing center console with combination lock. Great way to secure valuables and/or firearms!

IMHO, the post was unpolite and unnecessary. But,,, there's usually a wet blanket at every party.

Wonder if that vault will hold a Ruger Blackhawk, and how quickly it could be accessed in an emergency?

This gentleman has made the truck many of us dream of. He's not some jackoff that came on here and asked if "these tires gonna fit?" without searching. Treat him with respect.
Not trying to pick a fight, but because someone has built a nice truck is not a reason to "demand" respect for them.

Back on topic, does it lock automatically when it closes? I have been eyeing these for when I go back to the states and can carry again.

First, how secure is the mounting? It looks like there is not much room around it to get any serious leverage should someone try to rip it out.

Second, the lock is a cam lock. You enter the code and then turn the knob. You turn the knob back and turn the combo wheels to lock it. As far as accessibility, leave one numer off of the combo so you can get it open in just a second or two.

The company I work for sells the same lock and I am going to put them on the bins in the bed and the two under the seats in my DC.

You have to take out the center console, and it then bolts to the floor of the cab. From what I've seen they are pretty secure. and there is no good way to get ahold of it to rip it out....plus no theif would spend that much time on that anyways,

Here is a really good example of why a quick search would be beneficial. If you pay the price in that link the OP posted you are going to pay almost $50 more than if you order direct from Console Vault.

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=227744&highlight=console+vault

Total price was $259 w/keyless entry & shipping.
It fastens down with the same two bolts that hold the console in place. IMO someone who really wanted whatever you had in there could rip the console out pretty quickly with a prybar and then open the vault at their leisure. Like any other lock, they are really only there to keep basically honest people honest.

I really like mine. I bought it via Toyotanation when the guy was doing the groupbuy. He's been honoring the TN price for sometime afterward (unlike the wet okeole group buy :( ). It takes some maneuvering, but I can get it to fit a full sized Beretta 92FS with it's 5.25 inch barrel. Then I drop my cell, wallet, etc around it. The combination is changeable to any 3-number combo you wish. You screw it down through the bottom of the vault into the truck, then cover the screw heads with a supplied rubber mat. My only complaint is that the vault lid does not have a strong enough spring to stay open by itself. It will stay open by balancing, but any movement causes it to come crashing down. It fits in the console very well, and the console lid closes over the vault very well, you never know the vault is in there unless you open the console lid.

I use it when I go diving to stash my valuables and weapon, I use it to put anything that has my personal info (registration, insurance, etc) instead of in the glovebox so if my truck gets burged or ripped, the fools don't have my home addy, and I use it stash stuff (coins, money, garage door opener, toll road pass, etc) when I take my truck in for service.

HTH!

It even looks like you could fit some smaller things on top of it, too. Like maybe throw your wallet in their while you're driving.

I really like this. I'm going to have to grab one of these at some point because I really hate having to run home after going to the range all the time. I just don't want to chance leaving a gun unsecured in my truck, hidden or not.

We can agree to disagree but I would like the OP to feel free to post helpful information since he's very knowleable.
