Apparently, OPP cars only make it to 220km/h, or 135mph.

0-60 isn't stellar.

It doesn't matter though, nothing beats radio.

The only difference between a cop car and a regular car is its cooling system, electrical system, and depending on the model, the suspension.

Cop cars have bigger radiators and fans to keep them cool in long pursuits and while idling for hours. They have beefier electricals to run all the lights and computer equipment.

They dont have any special performance engines or exhaust or chips or any of that crap. Its just a car with some extra stuff on it, everything is functional.

I havent driven one, nor have i seen one clocked, but chances are they are slower than stock, because of the extra weight and strain on the motor from running all the extra stuff.

HOW DO I KNOW?

Be on a volunteer fire department in a small town, you get to know everything about public works vehicals. I know all the cops and firemen in the town, so you see stuff and talk to other cops and firemen from different towns.

^^i'm not sure about that....slower than stock....i remember having an OPP police escort while in a funeral procession...and we kept on commenting on how quiet the cop cars were....and how quickly they could accelerate.....i think they have some performance enhancements made strictly for the law enforcement agencies.....

Im tellin ya, i know for sure that the crown vic's and malibu's and caprice's are all stock, this is what the COPS have told me.

I cant imagine canada being any different than the us, since you guys get your cars from the same place we do.

That's right.. I remember that they top out a 220km/h because the other week a cop was pursueing a car and couldn't keep up because he was topping out and the car was travelling at 240km/h so they had the chopper on him ;)

yep, that's how I know :)

... Standard equipment on Crown Vic cop cars is a dual exhaust, good for a few ponies... but that's also an option on civilian models.

Maybe in your area but around here it depends, some of the Vic's got the Interceptor and the Caprice's got the RC51 or something...

You can always read what the MHP test the cars at, but I know both th Etawah County Sherrif's dept. and Alabama HP have engine and computer work done to run people down.

I personally can verrify that head sherrif James Hayes's car can top 155mph with his light bar on the top of the Crown Vic... So I wouldn't be running on the highway unless you have a lot of exits to take and a huge lead.
