While doing my annual pre-winter inspection I noticed a plug had popped out from under my car. This one was located under the drivers floorboard/seat and the opening in the underbody is approx 44 mm (1.75").

Surprisingly I could not seen to find a part # of this part online. Anybody know where I can find this part (or of a good quality DIY fix?).

This one is from my trunk and the hole due to rust wont hold it any more. As you can see it is 45mm and the part # is visible. Not sure if the drvrs seat is the same size or not but if the hole/metal is enlarged a bit it wont hold the new plug securely. I covered my trunk hole with a piece of metal and permatex ultra black gasket maker (which adheres like crazy).

The purpose of the plug is to drain water. It looks to me like your plug worked itself loose. My advice:

pull carpet, grind away the undercoating, put in a piece of steel that's the same diameter and use body seam filler and a magnet to hold it in place. If you're worried about drainage, then grab a standard sized floor plug online from Dorman, cut a hole with a hole saw that's the same diameter, paint the edge of it with bedliner. Apply silicone spray to the edge as a lube and wedge it in there, using a mallet to send it home.

Good luck.

You don't list the year, make, or trim but this is for 2004

Thanks XiaoHu for your suggestion. In your proposed solution involving the steel plate, where does the magnet come in? Since there appears to be a concavity from the cabin-size of the hole, would it make sense to cut a circle 1/2" diameter larger and epoxy it in place from above? I do like your idea about the Dorman floor plug too; assuming it stays in place.

Thanks ND Camry. It's an '05 and I believe it's the 01960 as torontoguy222 indicated (based on the opening diameter at least). The stealership and Amazon want $30 for a single damn plug so I'll probably make something (I'm sure more will pop off as time goes on).

I got a few missing plugs from the junkyard, but not this one.

I missed this, but the magnet is only to hold a patch in place while using window weld/body seam filler
