I have a Corolla XSE Sedan and I came across a video on how to remove the dome light cover. It seemed easy enough but upon further inspection, the light cover clips for the Corollas with the sunroof switches are different from the ones without the switches. I have a picture attached, does anyone know how I go above removing this?

Now that you have the black trim cover off, proceed to pull the whole thing down but not by where the map lenses are. There are 4 red clips holding the assembly to the roof. The bulbs are removed from the top only so it will all have to come down. No tools , just yank with your fingers, it's easy.

Triple J_XSE - Are you replacing or upgrading? I have a LE (budget and wife - couldn't get the XSE) with the premium package and looking to do mods.

I'm trying to swap the current bulbs with LEDs. I've been able to do all the other interior lights except this one.

Are you trying to remove the lens cover?

Next to the post, I can see a tab and another one along the inside edge.

Those tabs look like they will easily break with too much force.

Whichever way will allow me switch the bulbs. I looked at diagrams and also Wrench-Monkey’s post. It seems like pulling down the whole unit would be easier but I’m afraid of breaking it. It’s probably not worth it if it’s taken me this long to get it but I wanted to give it another shot.

Grab the front(where the phone mic is), dig your fingers behind and pull straight down to pop out the first 2 red snaps.then you will have room to dig your fingers around to the back side and leverage out the other 2 red clips by pulling down and forward. 4 red clips for such a small piece is overkill and will make you think it's gonna break but once you got the first 2 popped out it'll make sense how to proceed.
