I just read an review in the June 2/04 "Durham Wheels" section about the Corolla XRS. It seems that "unofficially" the TRD folks have hinted that a TRD supercharger kit may be in the works for the Corolla XRS.

Estimations are 230hp @ 4000rpm.

One word: w00t!:D

Ajax. Someone in Pickering dropped the article on my desk at work.

Yeah my thoughts exactly...a SC automatic? What a waste IMHO.

They make too many things for the 2zz, they need to start making more for the 1zz. :( I know a lot of people would agree.
Huh? You're joking right? There's alot more for 1zz engines and virtually nothing for 2zz. Please prove me wrong becuase I'm still looking for 2zz stuff.

The problem with finding parts for both the 1zz and 2zz is that you are looking for them to go in a Corolla. The aftermarket support for both engines is decent, but more stuff is out there for the 2zz (for instance the choice of CAIs and headers, there are definitley more offered for the 2zz)
The thing is these parts are mostly only offered for the Celica application. And also for the MR2 Spyder. Hell it seems like even the matrix has more support than the Corolla, but that might help because I think the engine bays are almost identicle between the Matrix and 03+ Corollas. I don't know about the exhaust though.

i can't imagine it'll allow for much boost...the compression's too high to begin with.
if they're running 3 PSI, should be fine, just not worth it for that amount.

rumour is rumour....but will u sure that it would have enough room to fit under the xrs hood? :D

or maybe xrs sc kit has discription 230 hp... but was that the motor or @ wheel? or just the number?

i believed that the 2zz has lift already...so the sc shouldn't be working..

The lift happens because of a lot of different variables - if I remember correctly it is based on the air temperature/load and when you add any type of forced induction it cools the temperature of the air down and hence the lift doesn’t happen - this can be re-programmed - but you must also remember that you have a 8200rpm redline and many other engine improvements over the basic 1.8(1zz I think)
