I have a 1971 Corona and I'd like to upgrade the ride (suspension, steering, and perhaps drivetrain). I'm not looking to race it but I'd like it to handle better and drive better. I'm hoping to get some suggestions on newer parts swaps (maybe a later model EFI engine swap) and aftermarket upgrades for the supension, if such things exist.

Thanks.

you could go for some king springs low.they have springs for the coronas.
i think some nolthane bushings should help stiffen up the ride a bit
you may need to make your own strut brace or modify one from another car.

efi engine maybe an 18rg or if you want go a 4age as that's a common conversion done here in Aus for the old coronas and corollas.

i was thinking ass, but +2 points for the schmuck:clap:

thers no struts in your car.

for handling what helps is hilux springs.

seriously.

the springs are the same cept a ton stiffer.

as far as suspension components go...

good luck, there isnt anything.

but you might get some newer celica or rolla stuff to work or fit.

but...

a ton of celica, pickup/hilux and rolla stuff will fit easily into the eng bay and come close to bolting in, the RWD format that toyota used up till 95ish is mostly the same, a shit-ton of parts interchange.

thanks for the info. I'll look into it. I have the car running pretty well, but for such a little car, it sure does ride like a tank. We have some gravel roads where I live and it is pure torture to drive on them with the Corona.
